Carbon content
Black Ranch professional charcoal (Quebracho blanco), is a high quality charcoal with a high calorific energy value and is produced under the values of the German DIN standard of approx. 80% carbon content. Product density The name Quebracho comes from the Spanish: ‘Quiebra Hacha’: which means: ‘Breaks the axe’. The product density of the Quebracho wood type is 40%. This means that the quebracho wood is one of the hardest woods in the world. Logically, this product density ensures a product that has a very long burning time. Quebracho blanco charcoal can reach temperatures of 750 degrees Celsius. Technical specification of the wood is 1.2 Kg/dm³.
Moisture content
Black Ranch Quebracho contains about 2% moisture because the product is produced and packaged in a careful manner. The lower the moisture percentage, the better and more evenly the product will burn. Ashes The residue after burning charcoal is the ashes. The less ash, the higher the carbon content of the product. This means that Black Ranch Quebracho is a pure and clean charcoal product due to the low ash content of approximately 4%.
production
Black Ranch charcoal is made from waste wood from the wood industry or is produced on the plantations created for that purpose and is a 100% natural product. Production is still traditionally done in stone charcoal ovens and is almost entirely a manual process. The large pieces (lump) are selected and sieved to create an ideal mix of charcoal (40-280 mm).
Usage
Black Ranch quebracho is ideal for various grilling methods such as direct and indirect cooking. Quebracho is often used in kamado grills and charcoal ovens such as josper and mibrasa, which use closed combustion systems and give the product an authentic smoky taste. We recommend that the product is properly glowed at start-up until the smoke that arises has disappeared in order to prevent unpleasant odor and taste.
aroma
Quebracho blanco gives a very specific and strong taste to the product that is prepared and this can provide that extra bit of taste experience.
